Full Time CRVS and/or RVT Sonographer

RVT Sonographer - One (1) Full Time                                              

DEPARTMENT/CAMPUS: Ultrasound-Diagnostic Imaging –Brampton Civic Hospital

HOURS:  Monday to Friday; Days and may include Weekends; 8 hour shifts (Subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

QUALIFICATIONS:                               

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Ultrasound Technology
  • Sonography Canada CRVS credential and / or ARDMS (CRVS) certification
  • Minimum of two (2) full years recent Canadian experience, Required
  • Proficiency in:
  • Peripheral arterial Doppler arms/legs (ABI/TBI), PVR/Segmental pressures, post bypass/intervention follow-up
  • Dialysis access evaluation
  • Peripheral venous, including duplex arms/legs, venous mapping, venous insufficiency
  • Extra cranial carotid duplex
  • AAA screening, EVAR follow-up
  • Experience in General Abdominal, OB/GYN, Breast and MSK an asset
  • FMF NT certification an asset
  • Membership with Sonography Canada an asset
  • Proven skill in the production of high-quality ultrasound images
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record     
  • May be required to travel between and work at all hospital campuses 

The successful candidate will collaborate with Ultrasound Coordinator, Lead Vascular Radiologist and/or Vascular Surgeons to create and maintain Procedures and Protocols.  In addition, the RVT Technical Lead will be responsible to mentor and teach General Sonographers to perform vascular exams.

JOB SUMMARY:

Perform ultrasound procedures, including clinical assessment, in accordance with departmental standards to aid in patient’s diagnosis and/or treatment.  Facilitate the provision of optimal patient care, observing and understanding Hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Adhere to Hospital mission and value statements while maintaining patient confidentiality.  Provide Radiologists and Vascular Surgeons with high quality imaging, accurate and complete preliminary technical impression, discussing ultrasound findings with Physician when necessary. Perform other duties related to the job classification as required.
